MBABANE:Michael Lee, a Taiwan investor and Director of the Malolotja Mine-Michael Lee Enterprise is allegedly trafficking Mainland China residents to Eswatini to be used as conduits for the smuggling of the multibillion Green Chert mineral.
An independent investigation conducted by this Swaziland News uncovered travel documents and questionable work permits linking Michael Lee in the alleged trafficking of the Chinese nationals, some of the documents suggest that, Huang Xiuzhu was last week grabbed at King Mswati International Airport by Immigration Officers and subsequently detained by the police at Siteki Police Station.
It has been disclosed that, before calling the police, the Immigration Officers first questioned the Chinese national asking basic questions and it later transpired that, she was not even aware where she was going.
A search was then conducted and a questionable entry permit dated 25th November 2025 was discovered, the permit seen by this publication is allegedly linking Michael Lee Enterprise Director Michael Lee, a Taiwan national operating the multibillion Malolotja Green Chert Mine.
“Haung Xiuzhu of Malolotja is hereby authorised to enter and remain in Eswatini under the provisions of this Class A entry permit until (date) 20251225,” reads the questionable permit in part.
But it has been disclosed that when questioned, the Mainland China national was not even aware of what was written in the permit and, the permit went on to state that, she will be working as a Mining Technician at Michael Lee Enterprises Malolotja Mine.
Michael Lee, the Director of Michal Lee Enterprises declined to comment about the matter when contacted by this publication but, State intelligence sources told this publication that, the Chinese national was detained on suspicion that, she was being trafficked.
“Michael Lee denied knowing the Chinese national when questioned but at the Airport, a Michael Lee vehicle was seen and there’s reasonable suspicion that it was there to transport the Chinese national. The car subsequently disappeared while Haung Xiuzhu was being questioned by the Immigration Officers,” said the State Intelligence source.
Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson, was not immediately available for a comment regarding the smuggling of the Chinese national.
But this disclosure comes after this Swaziland News exposed how Mines and Minerals Board Chairman Prince Guduza, King Mswati’s son Prince Lindani and Michael Lee Malolotja Mine Director allegedly colluded to smuggle the Green Chert worth over R4billion to the Mainland China, the mineral was subsequently impounded in China.
